Our focus was on climate economics models, and the various practices (e.g., scenario analysis, forecasting, uncertainty domestication), through which they can potentially impact policy.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Various scholarly traditions and research programs have much to contribute to this topic, however, the respective debates proceed largely independently of each other. Thus, we wanted to create a forum that facilitates exchanges between these various literatures.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Invited speakers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Doing so, we invited 12 speakers that study value assumptions in climate economics in various aspects. The list of speakers was:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/johannathoma.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Johanna Thoma<\/a>\u202f(LSE), philosopher of economics who works on democracy and measurement.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.philos.uni-hannover.de\/en\/frisch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mathias Frisch<\/a>\u202f(Hannover), philosopher of science who works on values and uncertainty in the context of IAMs.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.michirunagatsu.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Michiru Nagatsu<\/a>\u202f(Helsinki), philosopher of economics who works on economics and the limits of growth.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tylerdesroches.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tyler DesRoches<\/a>\u202f(Arizona State), philosopher of economics who works on human well-being and sustainability.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.winsberg.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Eric Winsberg<\/a>\u202f(Cambridge\/South Florida), philosopher of science who works on complex modeling and political decision-making.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/juliejebeile.net\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Julie Jebeile\u202f<\/a>(Bern\/CNRM), philosopher of science who works on values and objectivity in the context of the IPCC, as well as on climate change adaptation and feminism.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/beatricecherrier.wordpress.com\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Beatrice Cherrier<\/a> (Ecole Polytechnique), historian of economics who works on debates around time discounting in environmental economics.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hps.cam.ac.uk\/directory\/elabbar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ahmad Elabbar<\/a> (Cambridge), philosopher of science who works on epistemic justice in the context of the IPCC and other scientific advisory panels.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/david-ludwig.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">David Ludwig<\/a> (Wageningen), philosopher who works on the intersection of science and global justice.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/uwaterloo.ca\/knowledge-integration\/about-department-knowledge-integration\/our-researchers\/vanessa-schweizer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vanessa Schweizer<\/a> (Waterloo), philosopher who works on problems of cross-disciplinary knowledge integration and the design of scenarios for the human dimensions of large-scale environmental change.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/people.utwente.nl\/d.s.lenzi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dominic Lenzi<\/a> (Twente), philosopher who works on ethics and political philosophy in the Anthropocene, especially related to climate justice, deliberative democracy,\u202fenvironmental values and valuation, and biodiversity conservation.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fil.lu.se\/en\/person\/HenrikThoren\/\" target=\"_blank\">Henrik Thor\u00e9n<\/a> (Lund), philosopher of science who works on various theoretical and methodological issues in fields such as sustainability science, climate science, and the environmental sciences.
